Anomalous magnetic moments of quarks in magnetic dipole transitions of hadrons

Estimates for the anomalous magnetic moments of constituent quarks are obtained from data on radiative widths of vector and pseudoscalar mesons together with baryon magnetic moments, and taking into account relativistic effects. It is found that these data show unambiguously that the u- and d-quarks have a negative anomalous magnetic moment not proportional to their charge, on the level of 3--6% of the normal magnetic moment of the u-quark. At the same time, the magnitude of the u- and d-quark anomalous magnetic moment, which are proportional to their charge, as well as the anomalous magnetic moment of the s-quark are poorly determined by the existing data.
