Recently exact axially symmetric multi-monopole solutions in Yang-Mills-Higgs system were constructed by Prasad et al in the Prasad-Sommerfield limit. In the present paper their results are expressed in a more convenient and closed form with general constraint relations given on the parameters in order to ensure reality of the solution over all space. Further it is shown that solutions satisfying reality condition, although regular on the x/sub 3/ axis in general, develop singularities on the asymptotic surfaces near the x/sub 3/ axis. The necessary and sufficient conditions to ensure non-singularity of the solutions on the asymptotic surfaces and hence the finiteness of energy are given. The solution to these conditions uniquely determines all the parameters, up to an overall translation, and are the ones that appear in Prasad's Ansatz.
