Technology recovers petroleum refinery wastes, produces high-Btu cement-kiln fuel

When Houston-based Scaltech Inc. developed its patent-pending Scalfuel process, the result was a product offering potentially cost-effective solutions to problems in at least two different environmental market segments. Petroleum refineries need to dispose oily-solid wastes and eliminate associated legal liabilities, while cement-kiln recyclers seek high-Btu wastes to fuel their kilns. Scalfuel satisfies both parties` needs at relatively low cost. The Scalfuel process makes it possible for wastes from varied refineries and feedstocks to yield consistent fuels for cement kilns.
