Pressure-operated valve, particularly for a downhole pump
A liquid pump is described for use in a well including a pump module having a housing with an upper end and a lower end. The valve module has a chamber. First passage-forming means forms a first gas passage extending between the ends of the module. Second passage-forming means forms a second gas passage extending between the ends of the module; means for supplying gas under pressure alternately to the first and second gas passages. A valve module is below the pump module. The valve module has first passage means communicating with the first gas passage, second passage means communicating with the second gas passage, third gas passage means communicating between the second gas passage means and the chamber. A pressure-operated valve member in the valve module has a position closing communication between the first and second passage means when the pressure differential of gas in the first and second passage means is not above a predetermined pressure differential and having an open position enabling communication between the first and second passage means. When the pressure differential of gas is in the first and second passage means, a predetermined pressure differential checks valve in the second gas passage means between the valve member and the third gas passage means.
