Presented are the three months of field monitoring data that were collected for the Nashville Solar Water Heater Demonstration Project from September through November of 1981. Twenty-six solar domestic water heaters were monitored during September, 35 during October, and 37 during November. Homeowners were audited to asssure adequate solar access, and each selected a solar water heating system from an approved list. Once installed, the system would be inspected for compliance with TVA guidelines. Two-tank and one-tank systems are included. The monitoring sample technique and monitoring system are described. The collected data were analyzed by computer to produce daily and monthly total summaries for each site. The performance of each site was assessed comparing: total energy saved by the solar system, solar system savings percentage, and the energy multiplier. (LEW)
