Analyzer/recharger can extend battery life

An advanced battery analyzer can improve the performance and reliability of rechargeable batteries commonly used in portable oil field equipment. An automated battery analyzer/recharger developed by Cadex Electronics Inc., Burnaby, B.C., has improved rechargeable battery life and streamlined record keeping. The paper describes the advanced analyzer and its operation and gives recommendations for extending the service life of NiCd batteries, the type most commonly used in the oil industry.
