High-temperature X-ray measurements of the lattice mismatch of creep-deformed monocrystals of the nickel-base superalloy SRR 99

In {gamma}{prime}-hardened nickel-base superalloys, the lattice mismatch between {gamma}{prime}-precipitates and {gamma}-matrix is one of the important microstructural quantities. The lattice parameters a{sup {gamma}} and a{sup {gamma}{prime}} of the phases {gamma} and {gamma}{prime}, respectively, can be obtained from the analysis of X-ray line profiles measured with high resolution. From these lattice parameters the lattice mismatch {delta} = (a{sup {gamma}{prime}} {minus} a{sup {gamma}})/0.5 (a{sup {gamma}{prime}} + a{sup {gamma}}) can be calculated. The present X-ray investigations were performed on one undeformed, one aged and on several tensile-creep deformed [001]-oriented samples of the monocrystalline nickel-base superalloy SRR 99.
