This patent describes an apparatus for use in processing liquid radioactive waste materials for storage in solid form in a container having a substantially cylindrical wall. The wall has a substantially vertical axis, a top secured to the wall, the top having a container opening which is smaller than the area defined by the circumference of the top at the wall. The container holds a predetermined amount of an uncured fixing agent. The apparatus comprises: an enclosure into which the container may be placed. The enclosure includes walls, a bottom and a cover, one of the walls including a door opening through which the container may be placed in the enclosure or removed from the enclosure. The enclosure includes a movable tray for supporting the container in the enclosure, and at least one lifting cylinder for raising and lowering the tray.
