This report documents the work performed in developing the Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking for Four Products, namely dishwashers, television sets, clothes washers and humidifiers and dehumidifiers. The technical portion of the advanced notice is presented in Section 1. Section 2 presents the background data used to generate the preliminary maximum technologically feasible energy efficiency levels presented in Table II of Section 1. The format of Section 2 is suitable for submittal to the DOE Freedom of Information Office. Section 3 gives comments on the calculations performed to generate the preliminary maximum technologically feasible energy efficiency levels and recommendations for proposed standards and DOE test procedure modifications.
