Nitrogen oxides: an annotated bibliography

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:6428886
This publication contains abstracts of a sample of the existing literature on the nitrogen oxides, 1959-1970 (with some earlier works). The full text of each abstract is contained in APTIC and the APTIC accession number is given. Oxides of nitrogen are important factors in air pollution since the complex chain reaction that produces smog is initiated by photolysis of nitrogen dioxide. In high concentrations, nitrogen oxides themselves may be toxic to humans and vegatation. There are occupational hazards associated with nitrous oxides, and the widespread persistence of nitrogen oxides from gasoline engine exhaust and from other community sources, have recently made it mandatory to know more about the biological effects and physical and chemical properties.
