Evaluation of the potential carcinogenicity of diaminotoluene (mixed). Final report

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:6428299

Diaminotoluene is a probable human carcinogen, classified as weight-of-evidence Group B2 under the EPA Guidelines for Carcinogen Risk Assessment. Evidence on potential carcinogenicity from animal studies is Sufficient, and the evidence from human studies is No Data. This evidence is based on the carcinogenic properties of the isomer 2,4-diaminotoluene. The potency factor (F) for 2,4-diaminotoluene is estimated to be 23.2 (mg/kg/day)(-1), placing it in potency group 2 according to the CAG's methodology for evaluating potential carcinogens. Combining the weight-of-evidence group and the potency group, diaminotoluene is assigned a MEDIUM hazard ranking.
