Enhancement of the quasilinear relaxation of a fast ion beam in a noncircular tokamak

The quasilinear relaxation of a fast ion beam by Alven waves in a tokamak with a noncircular cross section is studied. With a noncircular cross section, the number of fast ions in the velocity region corresponding to the maximum fusion reaction fusion cross sections is lower than in a tokamak with a circular cross section.
