Remote handling aspects of the neutron diagnostics device for JET

This paper presents the preliminary design features of a Neutron Time of Flight spectrometer for the JET experiment which could be handled remotely if the spectrometer was placed in a shield in the torus hall. The JET handling facility includes cranes for 150 t and 25 t and a robot with the capacity of lifting 20 kg/arm. Since this facility cannot lift the total shielding, weighing approximately 300 t, a building-block system is proposed.
