DOI:https://doi.org/10.1063/1.33104· OSTI ID:6419031
The quark-antiquark potential in QCD is discussed with particular emphasis on the related ..beta..-fnction. The empirical information about the potential at intermediate distances, due to the psi- and UPSILON-spectroscopies, is reviewed. Finally, the quantitative connection between the zeta-spectroscopy, formed by the anticipated t-quark and its antiquark, and the short distance behavior of the quark-antiquark potential is examined.
