This report discusses the rebuilding and updating of a milling machine in USC at Sandia National Laboratories. After 15 years of use, it was found necessary to refurbish the machine. In order to make it more useful, modern controller, modern motors, and new measuring scales were added to the machine. The cost of the rebuild was $287,000, a price far less than the $800,000 price of a new unit. (JDH)
