The temperature and frequency dependence of the recombination continuum of a neon plasma at atmospheric pressure, frequencies in the range (0.45--1.2)x10/sup 15/ sec/sup -1/, charged-particle densities in the range (0.7--9)x10/sup 16/ cm/sup -3/, and electron temperature 16,500--26,700 /sup 0/K was investigated. The results are compared with other experimental and theoretical data. A good quantitative agreement with theory is found in the ultraviolet region of the spectrum, which is recommended for the diagnosis of temperature and electron concentration. The shift of the photorecombination threshold and the excess of the continuum over theory in the red region are discussed.
