During acidizing operations, it is important that suitable inhibitors be incorporated in the acid solutions to prevent damage to well equipment. The introduction of propargyl benzylamine in an acidic solution has been found to have the desired results of inhibiting the corrosive action or attack of the acid upon metal surfaces. Propargyl benzylamine can also be used in acid cleaning and pickling baths. It does not hinder or interfere with the desired action of the acid on the oxide, rust, grease, or scale. (2 claims)
