Measurement of the branching ratios for the decays of D{sub s}{sup +} to {eta}{pi}{sup +}, {eta}{sup {prime}}{pi}{sup +}, {eta}{rho}{sup +}, and {eta}{sup {prime}}{rho}{sup +}

Using a data sample with an integrated luminosity of 3.9thinspfb{sup {minus}1} collected in e{sup +}e{sup {minus}} annihilation with the CLEO-II detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring, we have measured the branching ratios for the decay modes D{sub s}{sup +}{r_arrow}({eta},{eta}{sup {prime}}){pi}{sup +} and D{sub s}{sup +}{r_arrow}({eta},{eta}{sup {prime}}){rho}{sup +} relative to D{sub s}{sup +}{r_arrow}{phi}{pi}{sup +}. These decay modes are among the most common hadronic decays of the D{sub s}{sup +}, and can be related by factorization to the semileptonic decays D{sub s}{sup +}{r_arrow}({eta},{eta}{sup {prime}})scr(l){sup +}{nu}{sub l}. The results obtained are compared with previous CLEO results and with the branching ratios measured for the related semileptonic decays. We also report results on the Cabibbo-suppressed decays of the D{sup +} to the same final states. {copyright} {ital 1998} {ital The American Physical Society}
