This patent describes a method of drilling an underground bore hole. It comprises: providing a nose assembly having a nozzle means to eject a pattern of viscous fluid to disturb and displace subsoil thereby cutting a bore in a first direction; connecting the nose assembly through a bendable mechanism having a longitudinal axis to a length of trailing drill pipe. The bendable mechanism including a bendable member and a rod having a passage extending therethrough in fluid communication with the drill pipe and the nose assembly, the rod having one end fixedly connected to one end of the bendable member and the other end slidably connected to the other end of the bendable member; providing the predetermined pressure of the viscous fluid while simultaneously rotating the drill string to effect a cutting action through the subsoil; and intermittently terminating the rotating action and increasing the predetermined fluid pressure of the viscous fluid to a second pressure to effect a change in the cutting direction of the nozzle means and the trailing pipe.
