A process for heating in an absorption cooling and heating system is described comprising the steps of: generating a refrigerant vapor and a concentrated absorbent solution in a generator; condensing the refrigerant vapor in an evaporator forming a condensed refrigerant; mixing the condensed refrigerant with the concentrated absorbent solution in the evaporator producing a dilute absorbent solution; cooling the dilute absorbent solution; and circulating the cooled dilute absorbent solution from the evaporator into the generator.
