A solar water heating and steam generating system is being designed for a California laundry. Progress reported includes completion of the analysis of the existing process services, determination of collectable solar energy at El Centro, California, selection of water as the heat transfer fluid in the 200/sup 0/F system and further analyses of heat transfer fluids for the 300/sup 0/F system, meetings and discussions with respect to system controls and monitoring and the collector support structure, and a proposal for the waste heat recovery system.
