Investigation of the transition electromagnetic form factor in the. omega --> pi. /sup 0/. mu. /sup +/. mu. /sup -/ decay

Sixty events of the rare electromagnetic decay ..omega --> pi../sup 0/..mu../sup +/..mu../sup -/ were recorded. The relative probability of this decay BR x (..omega --> pi../sup 0/..mu../sup +/..mu../sup -/) = (9.6 +- 2.3) x 10/sup -5/ is determined. The spectrum of the effective masses of muon pairs was measured and the electromagnetic transition form factor of the ..omega pi../sup 0/ vertex was determined F/sub ..omega../ (m/sup 2//sub mumu/;m/sup 2//sub pi0/) = (1-m/sup 2//sub mumu//..lambda../sup 2/)/sup -1/, where ..lambda.. = 0.65 +- 0.03 GeV/c/sup 2/. A comparison with the vector-dominance model is made.
