Moluecular interpretation of several different properties of flow of coiled polymer solutions through porous media in oil recovery conditions

Hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (HPA) are the most commonly used polymers for enhancing oil recovery. A systematic laboratory study of the various mechanisms possibly acting on the properties of flexible HPA solutions flowing through porous media was performed in order to interpret at a molecular level such phenomena as dilatant behavior, hydrodynamic retention and the variations of both mobility and permeability reductions as a function of pore size and adsorption properties. 29 refs.
