Alternative energy strategies and economic development opportunities in western boom towns

The western energy boom town is proving to be an uniquely favorable test-bed for alternative energy applications. Some constraints to implementation may be less apparent in these rural, rapid-growth situations then in more complex urban environments. Recent experience with alternate energy implementation in western boom towns is analyzed, and possible future prospects for expansion of the phenomenon are explored.
