Survey of chemical and radiological indexes evaluating toxicity. National Low-Level Radioactive Waste Management Program

This document reviews and evaluates 18 chemical and radiation standards, criteria, and measures that might form the basis of a combined radiochemical toxicity index for low-level radioactive waste. Six measures are recommended for the index basis and evaluated in greater detail. These measures include Water Quality Criteria, Lethal Dose and Concentration Levels, short-term bioassay, Multimedia Environmental Goals, and radiological dose factors.
