Proceedings: symposium on flue gas desulfurization. Volume 1

Conference ·
OSTI ID:6395394
These proceedings are of the Symposium on Flue Gas Desulfurization, held May 17 to 20, 1982, in Hollywood, Florida. The symposium was sponsored by EPA's Industrial Environmental Research Laboratory, located in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, and the EPRI Coal Combustion Systems Division, located in Palo Alto, California. The objective of the symposium was to provide a forum for supplier, user, service, and regulatory groups to discuss the technical and regulatory aspects of SO/sub 2/ control. The primary emphasis was on progress in SO/sub 2/ control technology, recent experience, and test results, not on future plans. The organization of sessions was as follows: (day 1) opening session, materials of construction; (day 2) dual alkali, special studies (chemistry, continuous emission monitoring, characterization, etc.), evening panel on reliability and maintenance; (day 3) combined SO/sub x//NO/sub x/, limestone/organic acid, utility applications and by-products; (day 4) dry flue gas desulfurization. Volume 1 contains 22 papers from Days 1, 2, and 3 plus abstracts from panel members. All papers have been abstracted and indexed for the Energy Data Base.
