Natural-convection heat transfer along an inclined flat plate close to an opposite wall

In this paper, natural-convection heat transfer along an inclined flat plate was investigated experimentally. The distance between the heat-transfer plate and the opposite wall was varied, and the effects of the opposite wall on heat transfer were observed. It was found that reduction rates in heat transfer at small inclination angle increased with decreasing distance. Then, the wall temperature patterns were also discussed from visualized data using liquid crystals. It was found that low-temperature streaks appeared on the heat-transfer plate, and that they played a significant role in heat transfer.
