Disposal of municipal refuse by the two-bed pyrolysis system

A description is presented of a two-bed pyrolysis system developed in Japan. Fluidized fine solids circulate between a reactor to pyrolyze municipal wastes and an incinerator to burn up the produced char. A pilot plant constructed in 1975 is described and the results of the pilot plant tests are discussed. The chemical composition of both the solid wastes and the pyrolysis gas are included. The economic feasibility of the system is also examined. (DMC)
