Quasielastic-scattering cross sections of/sup 28/Si+/sup 58,64/Ni have been measured inthe energy range /ital E//sub c.m./=50.0--76.5 MeV. The transferchannels with a large cross section produce a considerable effect on theelastic scattering for /sup 28/Si+/sup 64/Ni, while theeffect is small for /sup 28/Si+/sup 58/Ni because of thesmall transfer yield. A coupled-channels calculation including one neutrontransfer and inelastic excitation explains well not only the energy dependencebut also the isotope dependence of the quasielastic scattering with a singleenergy- and isotope-independent bare potential.
