Improving reagent regime of coal sludge flotation

Considering the possibility of attachment of a heteropolar reagent not to the surface of the coal, but to the water-air and oil-water interfaces (when using known slurry preparation schemes), it was practical to consider the effect of preliminary addition of such a reagent (before the injection of the collector and air into the slurry) on the flotation process. Laboratory investigations were conducted with screenings from the run-of-mine charge (the below 0.5 mm size class) from the Yasinovka Coke Works and coal from the Yubileinaya Mine. The first material is characterized by nonuniformity of the sludge generally (the run-of-mine charge consists of coal from practically all the main coalfields), and the second by nonuniformity of the coal surface and presence of a large number of silt. The collector was kerosone, and the frothing agent was T-66. 10 references, 2 figures, 3 tables.
