We measured the magnetic relaxation in a Bi{sub 2}Sr{sub 2}CaCu{sub 2}O{sub {ital x}} single crystal at a wide range of temperatures (6--25 K) and field strengths (100--4000 G). We found that the relaxation rate ({ital dM}/{ital d} ln{ital t}) is highly temperature and field dependent. By expanding Kim's model, we developed an expression for {ital dM}/{ital d} ln{ital t} as a function of field that we used to interpret the rise and fall of the magnetic relaxation in both the {ital H}{lt}{ital H}{sup *} and {ital H}{gt}{ital H}{sup *} regions.
