Various papers on high-speed computing are presented. The topics discussed include: motion-sensitive cellular automata; algorithm development for neural networks; mapping sequential processing algorithms onto parallel distributed processing architectures; electrooptical adaptive switching network for the hypercube computer; neural network signal processor; feed-forward, high-density, programmable read-only neural network-based memory system; and neural network implementation of a scan-to-scan correlation algorithm. Also considered are: super-resolution and neural computing; parallel algorithm for network traffic scheduling in application-specific architectures; multiprocessor systems for high-performance, high-reliability applications; hierarchical approaches to fault tolerance in processor arrays; arithmetic Fourier transform and adaptive delta modulation for high-speed computation; electromagnetic scattering analysis on a hypercube parallel architecture; almost linear time matrix operations on the Connection Machine; multilevel-multiresolution technique for computer vision via renormalization group ideas; and fast polynomic processing.
