This paper reports the natural convection heat transfer of fluids with two-layer stratification in an inclined enclosure investigated by a FEM numerical analysis. Two combinations of stratified fluids were used to describe the heat-transfer rate and the flow and temperature fields in detail in the range of Ra{sub w} {lt} 1.2 {times} 10{sup 4}. The inclination angle of the enclosure was varied form 32{degrees} to 148{degrees} and the aspect ratio (height/width) of the heat Q{sub B} transferred through the boundary surface of the two stratified fluids varied widely with the inclination angle and the Rayleigh number of each fluid. Also the quantity of heat through the hot and cold walls was influenced significantly by the quantity of heat Q{sub B}.
