Riftogenic structures of the western Arctic shelf investigated by refraction surveys
Journal Article
·
· International Geology Review; (United States)
Marine refraction profiles of a very important prospective petroleum province reveal the deep structure, to the base of the sedimentary section at some 20 km depth in troughs and still deeper to the base of the crust. The general pattern of rifting and trough filling appears to have repeated through Phanerozoic history, although with the rate of sedimentation increasing with time. 15 refs., 5 figs., 1 tab.
