Technical Report ·
DOI:https://doi.org/10.2172/6370762· OSTI ID:6370762
The solar energy described provides space heating and hot water for an office building and warehouse in Virginia. Only the space heating system is monitored. The system consists of an array of 24 water-based flat plate collectors and a 2000-gallon storage tank. Auxiliary space heating is provided by a gas-fired boiler. Freeze protection is by automatic draining. The system is briefly described, and its performance is analyzed using a system energy balance technique. (LEW)
