Status of direct-use geothermal development in California

The geothermal resource potential in five regions of California are described briefly. Those regions are: The Geyesers, Imperial Valley; the Eastern Sierras, the Northeast, and the Central Coast. The proposed direct-use geothermal development in California is summarized. These include: Bridgeport district heating project; Calistoga district heating project; Calistoga Wine Valley Inn; Chula Vista's Rohr Industries; East Mesa; El Centro Community Center; Fort Bidwell Indian Reservation; Greenville's Indian Valley Hospital; Lassen County's Honey Lake Hybrid Geothermal-Wood Residue Power Plant; San Bernardino's National Orange Show Facilities, Valley College, and Waste Water Treatment Plant; Santa Rosa's Sonoma State Hospital; Sonoma County's Boyes Springs Housing Development; and Susanville's Correctional Center.
