A transcription of remarks made by J. David Hughes to the Interstate Oil Compact Commission was presented. Problems involved with the Natural Gas Policy Act were discussed. The probable effects of full and phased decontrol of prices on the supply, demand, and price of natural gas were also included. It was determined that full decontrol in 1982 would cause the supply to increase and the demand to decrease. Future legislation and windfall profits tax, equal access to interstate pipelines, and alternatives to decontrol were also discussed.
