Conference · · Proc. Symp. Eng. Probl. Fusion Res.; (United States)
OSTI ID:6361883
The poloidal field (PF) coil system for FED is designed for the life of the device. This paper describes the maintenance and disassembly procedures of the PF coil system for the FED Reference Configuration. The major steps involved in disassembling and handling the coils are presented, along with estimates of device downtime and an assessment of the mode of operations, i.e., contact, remote, or automated.
