The ferromagnetic metallic glass alloy Fe/sub 78/Mo/sub 2/B/sub 20/ exhibits Invar-type behavior in the amorphous state below approximately 250 /sup 0/C. This behavior disappears upon crystallization. By thermal treatment of the amorphous alloy, excellent Elinvar-type characteristics have been obtained in partly crystallized Fe/sub 78/Mo/sub 2/B/sub 20/ in the temperature range 20--300 /sup 0/C.
