MOL1D; partial differential equations solution. [CDC6600,7600; Amdahl470; IBM3033; FORTRAN IV]

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:6359303
MOL1D is a FORTRAN subroutine package for the method-of-lines solution for systems of initial-boundary-value partial differential equations in one space dimension. This package allows a programmer with limited experience in numerical analysis to accurately solve linear and nonlinear hyperbolic equations with or without discontinuities, linear and nonlinear parabolic equations, including those arising in reaction-diffusion equations, and elliptic boundary value problems when posed as the stable time-independent solution of a parabolic equation. Systems are handled as easily as single equations, and a wide variety of boundary conditions can be accommodated.CDC6600,7600;Amdahl470;IBM3033; FORTRAN IV; SCOPE 2.1.5 (CDC7600) and OS/MVS (IBM3033); 58K (octal) words of memory are required on the CDC7600, 105K (octal) words on the CDC6600, and 270K bytes on the IBM3033.
