Serviceability of the shrouding of K-300-240 turbine moving blades reconditioned by deposition welding

Journal Article · · Sov. Energy Tech.; (United States)
OSTI ID:6355039
The authors discuss the reasons for selecting argon-arc deposition welding as the method for reconditioning worn seals on the shrouds of the moving blades of K-300-240 turbines. The problems of the welding process, metallographic analysis, the mechanical properties of the welded joints and the resistance to brittle and fatigue failure of the shrouds are examined. Recommendations are made for the selection of the filler metal and for taking account of the special features of the welding of shrouds.
