This conference proceedings contains 39 papers, all of which are abstracted separately. The conference presents a composite of ideas, suggestions and practical results offered by research groups of major oil companies developing and using black-oil type and compositional models to simulate the performance of petroleum reservoirs, numerical simulators for natural and hydraulic fracturing; carbon dioxide, water, steam and chemical flooding and other oilfield recovery processes. A group of papers focuses on the most efficient methods for solving the matrix equations associated with the reservoir simulation problems. Another group describes the hardware and software of advanced vector processing computers currently used by the oil industry.
