The public was invited to comment on four miscellaneous tax bills at a public hearing. The bills under consideration were: S. 329 to allow tax credits up to $300 against home-heating expenses; S. 569 to provide a 10% investment tax credit for some soil- and water-conservation expenses; S. 1252 to provide an amortization schedule for coal utilization expenditures; and S. 1561 to provide a 20% tax credit for certain land-conservation expenses. The 11 witnesses and the prepared statements submitted for the record were given by representatives of the American Farm Bureau Federation, the Irrigation Association, Land Improvement Contractors of America, and others.
