Analysis of two particle systems from a triggered hybrid bubble chamber experiment

Analyses of the final states k/sup +/ anti-k/sup 0/p, k/sup +/ ..pi../sup +/ ..lambda.., and p anti-n p resulting from ..pi../sup +/ p interactions at 11.5 GeV/c are presented for data obtained from a triggered hybrid bubble chamber experiment. In addition, the cross sections are calculated and discussed for other reactions which do not contain fast downstream pions. A partial wave analysis of the di-kaon system in the k/sup +/ anti-k/sup 0/ p final state reveals the dominance of the D/sub +/ and P/sub +/ partial waves in the A/sub 2/(1310) mass region. Spin analysis of the ..pi..-..lambda.. system in the k/sup +/ ..pi../sup +/ ..lambda.. final state suggests that single Regge exchange is insufficient to explain the data in the ..sigma..(1385) region and therefore supports both k*(890) and k*(1430) exchange. Finally, analysis of the p anti-n system in the p anti-n p final state indicates high spin resonance production near threshold which is not consistent with the simple OPE model.
