A search for nu/sub. mu. /. -->. nu/sub e/ oscillations using the E734 detector

No evidence for nu/sub ..mu../ ..-->.. nu/sub e/ oscillations is observed in an experiment in the wide band beam at Brookhaven National Laboratory using the E734 neutrino detector. The 90% confidence level limits obtained are sin/sup 2/ 2..cap alpha.. less than or equal to 3.4 x 10/sup -3/ in the large mass difference limit and ..delta..m/sup 2/ sin 2..cap alpha.. < 0.43eV/sup 2/ in the small mass difference limit.
