Nusar backup calculations for SECR events

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:6348080
Previous analysis of postulated SECR events at N Reactor has been based on rather simple one or two-dimensional analysis which excluded temperature and xenon feedback effects. The general procedure has been to look for the particular event which resulted in the highest fuel column peak-to-average power ratio. This ratio was then applied to the fuel column of maximum power in determining MDNBR values. The present study was performed to determine more realistic peak-to-average values associated with the maximum power tube following a SECR event. The models used are an improvement over those used in previous analyses. It is recognized that with more sophisticated computer models additional improvements could be obtained.
