The Martiki mine is reportedly the largest mountaintop coal operation in the USA. The operation uses a 58 m/sup 3/ dragline, 7 power shovels, and 40 trucks to produce close to 3 million tons of coal and to move more than 49 million tons of overburden per year. The truck maintenance program of the Martiki mine is discussed. The system provides data on repair and maintenance costs, component failures, hours of operation between failures, and the cost/operating hour of each motorized wheel in the fleet.
