A description is given of the repair and the installation of cathodic protection (a sacrificial anode system with aluminum anodes and designed for 20 yr life) of a marine facility in Vancouver Harbour, B.C., which handles crude oil and LPG. The repairs described were required as a result of severe marine corrosion due to poor weld splices in the dock's piles.
