A previously reported novel chromatographic technique for measuring capacity factors to yield infinite dilution activity coefficients for liquid and solid n-alkanes in compressed gases can be used to estimate solubilities, virial coefficients, partial molar volumes, and partial molar enthalpies at infinite dilution. This paper reports experimental capacity factors and their corresponding solubilities for the n-alkanes from C{sub 24}H{sub 50} to C{sub 36}H{sub 74} in C{sub 2}H{sub 6} from 308.2 to 348.2 K and from 80 to 240 bar. The results are interpreted according to the physical differences observed between even- and odd-numbered solid n-alkanes.
