This book contains the proceedings of the International Conference on Global Climate Change: Its Mitigation through Improved Production and Use of Energy, held at Los Alamos National Laboratory on October 21-24, 1991. The purpose of the conference was to [open quotes]explore the connections between climate change and energy policy,[close quotes] and to encourage dialog among social, energy, and climate change scientists and policy makers seeking consensus on the key issues of integrating climate change research with energy production and use. The book is divided into four sections that cover the status of the science of climate change; energy technologies and economics that are relevant to climate change; policy and decision making as they relate to climate change; and panel discussions and conclusions on integrating energy policy and climate change.
